Developmental Editing
Have you ever wished you could talk your work over with a professional editor every week or two? Would you like someone to hold you accountable for completing steps that will get you to the finish line with your story?
Would it be helpful to submit your work and get targeted, personalized feedback within a couple of days? Would you like to have a clear plan for writing your next novel or screenplay?
Developmental editing might be a good choice for you.
We’ll explore what you want to accomplish, your writing habits and experience, who you are and what kind of story you’re hoping to tell.
You’re free to submit up to 3500 words per call. It can be a scene or two. A new chapter. Outline materials, planning documents, character sketches, whatever you want me to evaluate. It’s a personalized service.
My job is to help you uncover your story and map out a path to writing it. I can work with you on a call by call basis, or you can save some money by booking a block of four weekly calls at a time.
Developmental bundle of 4 sessions $800
Weekly calls over a month, for as many months as you like.
This is a great way to develop a story idea into a professional draft. I’ll read 3500 words (or so) before each call—a scene or two, outline material, whatever you want to work on—and we’ll discuss it, always with an eye to your roadmap to the finish line: the story that YOU want to write, the best it can be.
Service includes a call recording.
Developmental single session $225
A single call is a good option for you if you’re struggling with the structure of a particular scene, or need to hash out some basics of your overall story structure. This service is best for clients already in the first- or second-draft process, and clients who’ve had a Diagnostic and need to check a few things.
It’s also a good way to try out my services without a full four-week commitment.
Service includes a call recording.
"I still have a few questions."
Book an initial exploratory call ($79, refundable with diagnostic booking) and let’s talk about them.
